the number 4 is representative of healing. it's a good, solid number. think of the strength and stability of a square..four corners. we use this stability in building foundations for sturdy homes, etc. the image on the card shows a glum-looking young man. he looks sad, depressed....just plain down and out. he's so busy thinking about how glum he is, focusing on the boredom and dissatisfaction of the three cups he has..to see that behind him, from a cloud in the sky, a fourth cup is offered...a new emotional opportunity. why is the young man so gloomy? why isn't he happy with what he already has? why has he closed his mind to the extent of not noticing the gift from "Creator" that is right behind him, if he would just turn his head and see? this represents the "pennacle" of a relationship..one in which one person, if not all involved, are simply seeing no progress. the seeds of discontent can now grow... the opportunities lies within being aware of the situation. there are steps that can be taken to rejuvenate the relationship, or situation. in a relationship, being passive only causes passivity and apathy. a decision to think about in regard to the 4 of cups: am i taking an emotional situation for granted, or is it truly lifeless, time to move on? notice every single cup is full...
